Despite her new makeover Kerry Katona drew a resounding round of boo’s from the large crowd at the MTV Europe Awards last night.
For those of you who are not familiar with Ms Katona here’s a quick rundown: she is a former Atomic Kitten who married Brian from Westlife, was successful on I’m a Celebrity Get me out of Here and is now married to a former cab driver who has done very nicely out the liason financially.
She now gets by in celebrity-ville by appearing in her own reality show where the MTV camera’s capture every moment of her tacky home life and constant arguments with her obnoxious husband - and all in front of her four children.
She is always described as ‘former Atomic Kitten’ which makes me wonder if there are any current Atomic Kittens at all - they all seem to be ‘former’.
Anyway, Kerry is the poster girl for the condition bipolar as she blames her public and social gaffes on the condition any chance she gets. Two weeks ago she appeared dishevelled and incoherent on an ITV morning show and, yet again, blamed her medication for her terrible state. Which kind of makes you wonder as since then other people with this condition claim the medication she takes does not cause one to appear drunk or off their face…which is exactly how she came across.
She dosen’t sing anymore, she does TV adverts for Iceland and lets the camera’s film her lounging around her expensive house in a dressing gown while she and the husband shout at and insult each other. In front of the kids…
Anyway, back to the MTV Awards. She looked better than she has done in recent years but she needs to drop that annoying habit of poking her tongue out in photographs - it’s not attractive or cute and not even remotely provocative. Just irritating. I’m surprised though that she got booed by the audience - she was popular at one stage a while back and I think she could be again if only she would ditch that prat of a husband.
