After ten years and a smash hit movie which told their story, the ladies of the Rylstone Women’s Institute are donning their baps and buns once more for a new calendar.

The original Calendar Girls have produced a calendar for 2010 which will once more raise funds for leukaemia. The original venture was launched in 1999 after one of the ‘girls’, Angela Baker, lost her husband John, to non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Back then they only aimed to raise some funds to purchase a settee for a hospital waiting room but the £3million they raised exceeded their wildest dreams. This new calendar, now in colour, will surely sell even more.

All power to these ladies; female beauty comes in all forms and these ladies are stunning in their own unique way…

To be honest I thought it was just a matter of time; there was always something not quite right about the relationship going between this couple. For some reason, despite the lust they always boasted existed between them, I felt that they never actually liked each other…

I don’t call myself a fan of either of them but I did hold some admiration for Katie/Jordan – she’s a great business woman and obviously a very devoted Mum. It was just when she was teamed with Pete that she fell short of being likeable.

It was not just Katie though; both of them just seemed riddled with insecurities about each other, no obvious trust was apparent between them and their arguments have become legendary. Their most recent episode of ‘Katie and Peter: Stateside’ featured an incident in a shop which turned into a hideous argument. The way Pete railed off at Katie, in front of a TV crew and shop staff, made for extremely uncomfortable viewing.

It was not a pretty sight and a tragedy for a couple blessed with so much in the way of wealth, fame, looks and three beautiful children.

Those poor kids. I hope they work things out but these two just seemed to be heading for a spontaneous combustion; too much too soon for the both of them. They always promoted the passionate side of their relationship but you didn’t see the friendship. Somehow they never seemed to really like each other.
